Continue ShoppingWhen starting your sustainability journey, you probably have a few questions (don’t worry, we did too)!
You might be wondering: Are all fashion brands the same? Do they have the same values or care about their employees? Are all fabrics created the same? Are they made to last and safe for us to wear?
The short answer: No. (But let’s be honest, you want some details!)
Not all brands are created equally, and frankly most of the fashion industry is far from meeting fair fashion standards. This all ties into the values of the company, and unfortunately some brands value profit over purpose. This often leads to underpaid employees, unsafe working conditions, and crappy fabric quality!
For that reason, there are TONS of fabrics on the market packed full of toxic chemicals, putting company employees, our environment, and our bodies at risk! We can actually see the effects on our bodies: dry and itchy skin, rashes, blisters, and shrinking penises. (Yep, you read that right…)
Now the good news is that this isn’t the case with ALL fashion brands, but this can still all be really intimidating. You may be wondering: What can I do to help? We thought the same thing, which is why we started a petition calling for the removal of 33 known carcinogenic, mutagenic, and toxic chemicals used in the production of our clothing (the same ones shrinking penises).
